will be affected we can only hope that things will improve with

coronavirus, probably rules/regulations will be with us for a while.

Updates of events can normally be found on Sections FB page or by word & mouth from section members.

If an event is cancelled for any reason it must be relisted on HQ website a couple of weeks before a re run takes place as it is the event permit for insurance purposes.( Les is the person to contact for this)

Please remember during these times to observe social distance rules to keep everyone safe as possible.

Maybe check to see if an event is still taking place before leaving home especially if weather is looking poor give the event organiser a call.

 

THE VMCC WSWS Black Mountain road event 22nd May 2022

ANNOUNCEMENT: The West South Wales Section will hold, on the above date, a non time schedule road run. The event is for solo and sidecar motor cycles, & three-wheel cyclecars and is part of the Western Region championship. The right is reserved to postpone, abandon or vary the event. Please note the event is run in a mountainous area with some steep climbs and descents and may not be suitable for low powered machines.

VENUE: The event will start and finish at Cresent car park Llandeilo SA19 6HN turn along by. CK’S Shop.

Then on you R-H-S. Toilets/ Petrol very close by. (Cheap day parking charges apply for Vans/Trailers).

ELIGIBILITY: The event is open to riders of machines under the 25 year rule, who are fully paid up members of the Vintage Motor Cycle Club Ltd or (Day members for this event) MEMBERSHIP CARDS TO BE SHOWN WHEN SIGNING ON Applies to full members only.

ENTRIES: Completed entry forms with the correct fee must reach the secretary by May 15th 2022. Cheques are made payable to West South Wales Section VMCC. Fees are only refundable if the event is postponed or abandoned. (Sorry no on the day entries will be accepted). Results will be shown on the WSWS website & awards presented at our Section dinner. Check point cards: Each rider will be issued with a check point card with your name & start number & to be filled in by yourself when indicated by instructions from route card, please hand in your card at the finish.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS AND INSURANCE: All riders and machines must comply with all RTA requirements.

As there is no time schedule to adhere to. So putting everyone on the same level of competition.

DESCRIPTION: Route cards and final instructions will be issued at the start. The first rider will leave at 11.00 am. and the remainder at one minute intervals. The route will be no more than 70 miles in length and will be over roads and maybe narrow lanes and may include ascents or descents. Odometers must be covered from view during the event and any rider failing to do so will incur a 20 point penalty. Blanking pieces will be available at the start. Please note that there is no time schedule and you may travel at your own speed

within the law. THERE WILL BE A LUNCH STOP OF 1 HOUR IT IS THE RIDER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO START THE AFTERNOON ROUTE ACCORDINGLY. .

CHECK POINTS A number of unmanned check points will be on the route and each rider will be required to stop and answer the same two questions that are asked on your card at these certain points during the event. The start and finish constitutes a c/point. Alterations to cards will not be excepted.

PENALTIES: There is no average speed to be adopted or declared by any rider. Instead each rider will be asked at each point to estimate the mileage to the point from the previous point, and also estimate what speed they have ridden at. Any rider using another vehicle as a pacemaker will be disqualified. One mark will be lost for each complete minute or mile of an incorrect estimate of the mileages and speed. Any rider missing a stop point, or failing to fill in his/her card will incur 50 penalty points. Any rider using electronic time, distance or average speed measuring equipment or outside assistance as to the position of the stop points will be disqualified. Any ties if they occur will be decided furthest cleanest then older machine.

Only one award will be presented pp with exception of the team award or if only 1 entrant in a certain class.

I/We confirm that I/We understand the nature and type of event and the risk inherent when entering and agree to accept the same not withstanding those such risks may involve negligence on the part of the organisers/officials.
